We are in the process of carrying out electrical safety checks on all of our Aragon and SNH properties (NIC tests). This will become a cyclical programme where we aim to test every property once every five years, to ensure the fixed electrics within each property are safe and meet wiring regulations.

We will be sending tenants a letter offering a provisional appointment and follow this up with a telephone call to confirm dates and suitable time slots for the work. We do our utmost to be as flexible as possible as we understand tenants could be at work or have appointments, school runs and other commitments to uphold.

The test takes up to two hours dependent on whether any remedial work needs to be carried out. During the test we will need access to sockets, light switches and the consumer unit, however white goods and large furniture do not need to be moved. The electrical power will be turned off for a period of time during the test, but we try to keep disruption to a minimum.

During our visit we will also fit mains wired smoke detectors if required and a fire safety pad to the consumer unit; this is all to improve the safety of the property.

We are proud to have a good team of electricians who will be more than happy to explain anything that concerns our tenants whilst they are at the property. Our office staff are also available between 8.45am and 5pm Monday to Friday to answer any questions.

We have had very good feedback from the properties where we have already carried out electrical testing.

We will endeavour to cover all properties on this programme within the five year period, however if any of our tenants have any concerns, we are more than happy to consider bringing forward an address for testing should this be required.
