In order to bring us in line with best practice amongst housing associations and to spend money in the most appropriate way to the benefit of all tenants, we are making some slight changes to the repairs tenants are responsible for. The changes are as follows:
- Broken toilet seats, handles/latches on internal doors/cupboards and draught-proofing are now the tenant’s responsibility.
- Blocked wastes/gulleys have always been the tenant’s responsibility but we would unblock free of charge if tenants had tried to clear. This is now fully the tenant’s responsibility and tenants will be recharged if we are asked to do it. We will still repair blocked drains and toilets.
- Just a reminder that dividing fences are the tenant’s responsibility; the only fences we will repair or replace are those adjoining a public path/public area.
