Move-in4ward engaged with the target group by using NLP life coaching techniques and practical skills training to help improve their confidence, motivation, live healthier lives, be more in control of their tenancies and to set realistic goals to improve their prospects. Content included budgeting/debt management, managing a tenancy and tenancy rights, DIY skills, cooking on a budget/healthy eating, first aid, sexual health all of which embedded the use of computers. Move-in4ward tackled the digital divide and provided the loan of a laptop with internet access for the course duration and the opportunity to purchase a subsidised laptop.
Partner organisations delivered the modules which helped them to engage with the harder to reach group and enabled them to inform participants about additional support available to them.
Common themes with learners were unemployment, tenancy issues, low confidence and problems including debt, isolation, depression and addiction.
Ultimately we wanted our learners to raise their self esteem and be more confident and motivated to achieve their goals and move forward into education, volunteering, resident involvement, employment as well as achieve their personal goals.
