Ways to pay your rent

Paying your rent

The tenancy is a weekly tenancy running from noon each Monday.  The rent is due in advance by Noon on Monday each week.   We offer a range of payment methods including:

• Direct debit.  A Direct Debit Mandate form will need to be completed and returned to the Association
• At  South Northamptonshire Council Cash offices in Towcester and Brackley (this is under a temporary contract arrangement )
• Various Debit or Credit cards* using the Automated telephone payment line on 0845 2300 216
• Online at www.billpayment.co.uk, using Debit or Credit Cards* (*a small charge may be applied for Credit Cards transactions)
• At the Post Office using the Transcash service
• Bank Standing Order. A Standing Order Instruction will need to be completed and returned to your Bank to be actioned

Help with Paying your Rent

You may be entitled to Housing Benefit to help with paying your rent and Council Tax.  Please contact the Housing Benefit Section at South Northamptonshire Council on Tel: 01327 322140.

Rent arrears

As an assured tenant you have many rights.  For example, you can live in your home for the rest of your life as long as you do not break your tenancy agreement.  However, if you get behind with your rent you may be in danger of losing your home.

If you have problems paying your rent, contact the Housing Services Team or your Housing Officer straight away.
