SNH works in partnership with local youth organisations and young people in the district to develop projects and services that benefit both young people and the wider community. Previously this has included Sound Box, Mears Young Apprentice project and an intergenerational project called Silver Surfers. SNH also offers work experience placements to young people.
So if you are a young person interested in becoming involved with the development and improvement of SNH services and would like to be a voice for young people, contact us on 01327 357862 or email becky.pavey@southnorthantshomes.co.uk
Soundbox involves quarterly events run by the Soundbox Partnership (Vision, SNH, Community Safety Team and the Community Safety Partnership).
The purpose of these events is to challenge the perceptions people have towards young people, give young people a voice in their local community and reduce anti-social behaviour. We do this through providing educational workshops and positive diversionary activities such as aerosol art workshops and street dance.
SNH and Vision Youth Cafe are currently in the process of developing a Youth Steering Group. The purpose is to consult the young people on various topical issues and to enable them to help us improve our services.
Would you:
like to have an influence in the services SNH and Vision offer?
like to be included in consultations?
like to be respected by fellow young people, adults and professionals?
