What is a customer forum?

The role of the customer forums is to work with the Association and its staff to develop improvements across the services delivered by South Northants Homes. The forums will make recommendations to the Customer Committee and officers of the Association as well as act, on occasions, as a consultative forum for external agencies, whose services may impact on the Association’s customers.

What skills and experience do I need to join an SNH customer forum?

You do not need any specific skills or experience to become a forum member and you will gain a valuable personal and social development skills including team working, interview skills, problem solving, and public speaking skills.

Could YOU join one of our forums?

SNH has several customer forums, which all deal with different topical issues. Following our recent Resident Involvement review. we have made changes to 3 of our forums to give them both a scrutiny and consultative role.

Repairs and Improvements Scrutiny Forum  

This looks at the areas including quality of accommodation, our programme of major works, repairs service, heating and maintenance.

Tenancy & Neighbourhood Scrutiny Forum (Housing Management Forum)

This looks at empty properties, allocation, rent, tenancy issues, neighbourhood management, local are co-operation and anti-social behaviour.

Tenant Involvement & Empowerment Forum (Communications Forum)

This forum look at customer service, complaints, responding to diverse needs of tenants, as well as working on the development of the customer newsletter SNH news, calendar tenant annual report, website and other publications.

In addition to our scrutiny forums we have two specific customer based forums and an opportunity for you to get involved from home.

Older Persons Forum

Members of the forums will continue to be consulted on issues relating to our Retirement Homes Service, including our alarm service, policies and procedures and new project and initiatives as well as our retirement newsletter.

Leaseholder Forum

We have previously held specific forum meetings for our leaseholders, and would be keen to hear from you if you are interested in attending future meetings.

Email and Home Reading Panel

We recognise that not everyone can give their time to attend meetings. You might prefer to receive information and consultation document via email or through the post. We are providing the opportunity for you to have a role from home without attending meetings.
