Who can apply?

To qualify for retirement housing you must be over 60 years of age, or over 55 years of age and registered disabled. You will be required to have a needs assessment completed by an SNH staff member, which once completed, will be returned to South Northamptonshire Council (SNC). If you are a couple, only one of you need be over 60 years of age, or over 55 years of age and registered disabled and have an assessed need for the support service to qualify.

You can apply for retirement housing regardless of whether you rent or own your present home, although consideration will be given to your financial circumstances. You should ideally be living in the South Northants area, but you may still apply if you have previously lived in South Northants, have family living in South Northants, and have a local connection or need to move to the area.

Initial applications should be made through SNC, who will pass your details to us to contact you and arrange to complete a needs assessment.
