Service aims and objectives

The Retirement Homes Service aims to ensure that you feel safe, secure and empowered to continue to be an active member of your community. We wish to enable and support you to make informed decisions about the way you lead your life, and to consult with you regularly to ensure our services are tailored to meet your needs.

The following service outcomes will ensure that we strive to offer you a service which is of good quality, is effective in meeting your needs and will ensure that our service remains relevant and viable for the future:

  • Maximising independence –  to support you to achieve or maintain financial and personal independence, enabling you to lead a quality life of your own choice

  • Achieve goals and aspirations – to support you to set and achieve goals however small, putting your needs and aspirations at the heart of our service delivery

  • Community involvement – to support you to access the wider community and for us to work with other providers to meet their needs to enable them to remain in their own home for as long as possible

  • Feeling safe and secure – to ensure you live in a safe and secure environment, where your views are sought and respected, where services can reflect your ongoing changing needs.

  • Enjoyment and fulfilment – to encourage an active and inclusive environment to stimulate and promote your well-being and enjoyment. To assist you in enabling cultural, religious and personal beliefs, which will be met with the support of other additional services, where possible.

  • Maximising health and well-being – to provide you with support and guidance/assistance with accessing aids/adaptations and new technology to maximise your independence and maintain your health and well-being, in partnership with other providers.

  • Resident involvement – to regularly consult with you on all aspects of the retirement housing services we provide and to work closely with the Community Development Team to maximise consultation processes which meet the needs of all individuals, including those who may not find it easy to make their views heard.
