The Tenant Services Authority has been the regulator for housing providers, but ceased to exist on 1 April 2012. This role has been taken over by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), but the regulatory focus will change slightly as there will be a particular emphasis on financial viability and value for money. The standards put in place by the TSA are:
Tenant Involvement and Empowerment
Home
Tenancy
Neighbourhood and Community
Value for Money
Governance and Financial Viability
These standards and the local offers we have developed, will continue to be followed and monitored. Feedback to our customers on performance against our local offers will, as before, be featured in the tenant annual report.
Homes and Communities Agency
The Homes and Communities Agency works with local authorities, housing associations and developers to provide new affordable homes which are environmentally and socially sustainable. As of 1 April 2012, the HCA has taken over the regulation of housing providers from the TSA. Visit their website to find out more.
