Older Persons Housing

Who can apply?

1. To qualify for sheltered housing or properties benefiting from the support of a warden and an alarm you must be over 60 years of age, or over 55 years of age and disabled or have special needs, and have an assessed genuine need for the support service. Assessments will be carried out by the Association to ensure that you are suitable for inclusion within the support schemes.

If you are a couple, only one of you need be over 60 years of age, or over 55 years of age and disabled or have special needs, and have an assessed need for the support service to qualify.

2. To qualify for the dispersed housing with a community warden you must be over 55 years old and require a low level of support.

You can apply for Older Persons Housing regardless of whether you rent or own your present home, although consideration will be given to your financial circumstances. You should ideally be living in the South Northants area, but you may still apply if you have previously lived in South Northants, have family living in South Northants, have a local connection or need to move to the area.
