The role of the scheme manager
The scheme manager’s main role is to contact each tenant in his or her scheme on a daily basis from Monday to Friday.
The scheme manager will provide the following support:
- All tenants entering the scheme will have a support plan agreed with the scheme manager, which will identify the level of individual support required and will be updated regularly.
- Summon the appropriate help in an emergency by contacting relatives, doctors, social services or other professionals.
- Ensure that buildings and equipment are kept secure and in good order.
- Encourage and support tenants to organise social activities on the scheme e.g. coffee mornings, craft sessions and bingo.
- Test the alarm system once a month to ensure that it is in full working order and that the tenant understands how the equipment works.
The scheme manager’s hours of duty are 8:45am to 5:15pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am to 4:45pm on Friday.
While the scheme manager is off duty, or on leave, the call care centre and a visiting community warden will deal with emergency calls.
